The parade came a day after Foles led his team to its first Super Bowl victory with a 41-33 win over the New England Patriots.

The Eagles have landed.

Fresh off their first Super Bowl title, the Philadelphia Eagles arrived home Monday afternoon. Throngs of overjoyed fans greeted the team’s plane at Philadelphia International Airport, cheering wildly and singing ”Fly Eagles Fly.”

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, Coach Doug Pederson and stars like tight end Zach Ertz and running back LeGarrette Blount approached the chain-link fence separating the team from the fans, smiling, pumping their arms and hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. Many players shot video with their cellphones.

The underdog Eagles beat the New England Patriots 41-33 Sunday night.

Philadelphia’s top police official says he got hit in the head by a bottle during one of the big street celebrations of the Eagles’ first Super Bowl victory.

Commissioner Richard Ross tells TV station WPVI that ”the lion’s share of people just celebrate peacefully, but you’re going to get some idiots out there.”

He says bottles were thrown at police officers at times and some suffered minor injuries Kyle Brodziak Jersey , including himself.

Ross says that he ”doesn’t get what people do and why they do it.”

Haley’s wife Christine was involved in what Pittsburgh police described as a minor altercation at Tequila Cowboy on Sunday night a few hours after the Steelers wrapped up the regular season with a victory over the Cleveland Browns. Haley himself was not involved in the incident, though he did sustain a minor injury at some point during the night.

Haley said Thursday the situation was ”not of my doing,” adding the team has assured him it is not concerned about it going forward. No charges were filed.

Haley says his ”sole focus” is on the AFC North champions preparing for the playoffs. Pittsburgh will play a to-be-determined opponent in the divisional round on Jan. 14.
